Welcome New Visions Education Students

• You will  do 2 week rotation in various educational settings (kindergarten; Grade 1 or 2; Grade 3,4, or 5; Middle School; High School; Special Education; English Language Learners; and,  Administration, School Counseling, or other specialized roles in education).  In each rotation you will work with a master mentor teacher. 
• You have the opportunity to receive 12 college credits: 3 in SUNY/WCC English Literature and Composition I, 3 in Syracuse University Public Affairs, 3 in Child Psychology from Mercy College and 3 in SUNY/WCC Introduction to Teaching.  
• The curriculum includes: Learning to Teach, Curriculum and Lesson Development, Classroom Management, Child Development, Meeting the Needs of Individual learners, What Effective Schools and Teachers Do, and Issues in the Field of Education.
• As part of the program you will do your own research study in an area of education of interest to you.
